Four women reunite to celebrate the first novel of lifelong friend Anne Helene Dovendale. Friendships are tested as an odd force creates havoc among the guests at a lavish lakeside resort. It’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s fake at the mansion down by the lake. Fortunes will be won and lost. Fortunes will be told. Friendships can disappear even when they’re old. To reflect on the past may open them all, if there’s something in the way the dusk falls.
